A Legacy of Honor, Excellence, and Service
As I reflect on my 18-year journey with the United States Air Force - from enlisted service to my current role as Reserve Commander of the 433 LRS - I'm reminded daily of why our work at Glendale Parade Store and Drill Dojo matters so profoundly. This isn't merely a business; it's a mission to preserve the integrity of our nation's most sacred symbols and traditions.
When I see a properly manufactured American flag presented at a veteran's funeral, when I witness the precision of a cadet drill team using our equipment, or when I observe the pride in a first responder's ceremonial presentation, I'm reminded of why I've dedicated my life to this purpose.
Preserving American Symbolism
Too often today, we find ourselves "erasing with our sleeve what we're writing with our hand" when it comes to our national symbols. The proliferation of substandard, foreign-made flags and ceremonial items undermines the very values they're meant to represent. At Glendale, we stand firmly against this trend.
Every flag we sell is crafted in the United States and meets the exacting standards set by the U.S. Army Institute of Heraldry. As members of both the National Independent Flag Dealers Association and the Flag Manufacturers Association of America, we ensure that our products aren't just merchandise - they're symbols worthy of the sacrifices made by those who serve.
Building Future Leaders Through Drill
Our Drill Dojo has transformed what was once an inconsistent practice into a standardized, safety-oriented discipline that builds character and instills values. Through our colored sling certification system and free educational resources, we've democratized access to proper drill training while honoring legends like Constantine Wilson who shaped this tradition.
The impact extends far beyond the parade ground. Former cadets consistently tell us that the discipline, precision, and teamwork they learned through drill have shaped them into better citizens and leaders. In a time when military recruitment faces unprecedented challenges, we're proud to nurture the seeds of service in our youth.
Investing in Those Who Serve
Our commitment goes well beyond providing equipment. To date, we've donated over $50,000 to support drill competitions including Golden Bear, Rocky Mountain, and numerous local events. We've provided two obstacle courses to San Antonio's North ISD Raider program, and through our Drill For Dreams initiative, we've helped countless schools and cadets access the resources they need to excel.
These aren't mere charitable contributions - they're investments in the future of our nation and the preservation of values that have defined America since its founding.
A Call to Restore Pride
Today's youth are increasingly disconnected from the concept of service. Political rhetoric often undervalues the contributions of military members and first responders, while institutional biases sometimes mischaracterize even ceremonial items as problematic.
At Glendale and Drill Dojo, we reject these trends. Our ceremonial swords, sabers, and replica rifles are not weapons of war - they're symbols of respect, leadership, and tradition. Through education and outreach, we're working to bridge generational gaps and reignite the flame of patriotism.
Our Pledge to You
Whether you're an Honor Guard member, a Color Guard participant, a cadet program leader, or a first responder, you have my personal commitment: We will never compromise on quality. We understand that the items you purchase from us aren't just products - they're an extension of your service and dedication.
As someone who continues to wear the uniform, I recognize the weight of this responsibility. The flag that drapes the coffin of a fallen hero, the sword presented at a retirement ceremony, or the drill rifle used by a cadet team must reflect the highest standards of American craftsmanship and symbolism.
In service and with gratitude,
