Glendale Parade Store Receives the 2026 Texas Pro Patria Award

We are proud to share that Glendale Parade Store has received the 2026 Texas Pro Patria Award, the highest recognition presented by an Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) State Committee.

This recognition means a great deal to our team. Supporting members of the National Guard and Reserve is an important part of our connection to the military community, and we are honored that our efforts have been recognized by the Texas ESGR committee.

This award belongs to the people who make that commitment possible every day: our team members, including those who have served and those who continue to serve.

"This award means a lot to all of us at Glendale. Service members and their families give so much, and we are honored to be recognized for standing behind them." - Jose Alejandro Barreto Martinez, Glendale Parade Store

A Prestigious Recognition for Employer Support

“Pro Patria” is Latin for “for one's country.” The Texas Pro Patria Award is presented by the Texas committee of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an organization that works to strengthen relationships between civilian employers and the men and women serving in the National Guard and Reserve.

The Pro Patria Award is the highest recognition an ESGR State Committee can present. Each state or territory committee presents it annually to one small employer, one large employer, and one public-sector employer. Recipients are recognized for their leadership and workplace practices that support employees serving in the Guard and Reserve.

Eligibility includes receiving an ESGR Above and Beyond Award, having at least one supervisor or representative receive a Patriot Award, and signing an ESGR Statement of Support.

This recognition matters because Guard and Reserve members balance civilian careers with military responsibilities, including training, drills, and deployments. Supportive workplace policies can help them meet those responsibilities while continuing their civilian employment.

Our Support for the Reserves

Glendale’s connection to military service is reflected in its leadership. Major Jose Alejandro Barreto Martinez serves in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, bringing personal experience of military service to his role at the company.

Glendale’s connection with the Texas military community also extends beyond the workplace. In January 2025, team members joined local San Antonio drill teams and the Texas National Guard for a free public Drill and Chill event. The event gave attendees an opportunity to meet Guard members, ask questions, and learn more about military drill and service.

A Commitment That Goes Beyond Recognition

Since our start, Glendale has supplied flags, uniforms, ceremonial replica rifles, swords, and honor guard gear to the military, JROTC, ROTC, first responders, and honor guards. Our catalog includes more than 14,000 items, and our flags fly in all 50 states, U.S. territories, and countries worldwide. We also serve veterans, cadets, and their families through dedicated sections of our store.

We give back as well. Through our Raise & Donate programs, JROTC units, honor guards, and first responders can raise funds for training and equipment. Our Drill For Dreams program lets units earn company credit through strong drill performance, and the Constantine Wilson Drill Dojo Award honors one outstanding high school drill student each year. Our free Drill Dojo program helps young people learn military drill and build discipline. See where we will be next on our events page.

Congratulations to the Glendale Team

Congratulations to everyone at Glendale Parade Store on receiving the 2026 Texas Pro Patria Award. We are grateful to the Texas ESGR committee for this honor and to our team, customers, and military community for their continued trust and support.

Honoring service means standing behind those who serve in the workplace, at home, and throughout the community. We are proud to continue that commitment.
